The focus of the Best Practices Committee is to identify changing methods and methodological concerns that are not addressed in the current Standards and Guidelines for Archeological Investigations in Maryland. Most importantly, this committee seeks to propose one or more solutions to addressing the identified changes. Other areas such as curation are not within the purview of the committee. Members should identify best practices from their own experiences or from the experiences of other states to address changing field methods and suggest solutions. The final product is envisioned as a "living" white paper or best practices document that can be used to supplement current practice. The most current form of the White Papers is available HERE.
